The Spartan

Often only a fragment remains of the ancient sculptures in museums, yet even that fragment is enough to convey the power of the whole. The Spartan applies this idea to its own face: of the upward-gazing face, only the lips, chin, and neck remain; the sharp cut across eye level calls you to hold your head high at your desk.

In The Spartan, only the lower half of an upward-gazing warrior's face remains: the nose, parted lips, chin, neck, and the curls around the ear. The head ends in a diagonal cut across eye level; the surface is matte off-white.

With its rectangular base, it fits on a bookshelf, your desk, or in a display cabinet. Despite its small size, the bold line of the cut is noticeable even from a distance.
