About the piece

Despite their strength, gorillas are known as calm animals devoted to their families. In this sculpture, that serene strength settles into the sharp planes of a gorilla standing firmly on all fours; the deep red body carries both resolve and warmth at the heart of the home.

In Geometric Gorilla, a gorilla standing firmly on all fours is rebuilt from sharp, flat planes. The satin-sheen deep red reflects in a different tone on every plane; the transition between light and shadow brings out the architectural lines of the form.

At 140 cm tall, it stands on its own in an entry hall, a spacious living room, or an office lobby. Made of resin-coated glass fiber (fiberglass), its color is protected by a UV-resistant topcoat.
