The Flash

Speed is one of the oldest symbols of our wish to keep up with time and leave it behind. The Flash captures this wish in a still moment: the silver lines on the red suit and the scorched-texture ground keep the ember within alive even while the figure stands motionless.

The Flash is a runner figure standing upright, arms held slightly out to the sides. Silver lines wrap the red suit like a web; gold-toned lightning details sit at the chest, waist and ankles, and beneath the feet lies a dark, scorched-texture ground ringed with jagged pieces.

It is 83 cm tall; its wooden base has brass details, and in the image it is displayed inside a tempered glass case. It sets its own stage in the study or in front of a collector's shelf.
