Empty Reader

Someone who reads a great deal carries part of what they have read without realizing it; over time, the words blend into the person. Empty Reader shows this quite literally: the figure, its body woven from head to toe with printed lines, leans over the blank pages of the gold-toned book in its lap, as if, after all its reading, the time has come to write its own story.

Empty Reader is a slender figure sitting cross-legged, leaning over a gold-colored book in its lap; its body is patterned from head to toe with printed lines of English text. The book's pages are left blank; what is being read becomes the figure itself.

At 14 cm tall, it finds its place on a bookcase shelf, a desk, or beside a stack of books. In black and white tones; the two can also be placed side by side as a pair.
