Moonwalk Astronaut

The moon, lighting the way through the night, is said to be humanity's oldest traveling companion; anyone who looks at it thinks, for a moment, that it is looking back. In this sculpture the astronaut stands on the moon and carries another small moon at the end of a string: one beneath its feet, one in its hand, the two answering each other like an echo.

Moonwalk Astronaut is an astronaut stepping out atop a cratered gray moon sphere, holding a moon balloon rising on its string. The moon beneath its feet and the moon in its hand answer one another; the glossy helmet and jacket are sharpened by matte black headphones.

At 140 cm tall, it holds a corner of the living room, a stair landing, or a generous entryway on its own. Offered in gold and silver; made of resin, its light construction makes it easy to move around indoors.
